Fluid Life’s MLA Level II certification training is an on-demand online course that provides the foundational training for reliability-centered machine lubrication work practices and oil-sample based condition assessment. This course is aligned with the ICML body of knowledge for the MLA Level II in accordance to ISO 18436-4, II.
Note that the Machine Lubricant Analyst Level I certification (or equivalent) is required as a prerequisite.
Topics
- Review of the roles and functions of lubricants (base oils, additives, mineral and synthetic lubricants) and lubricant regimes.
- Discussion of oil analysis and maintenance strategies including RCM and CBM.
- Overview of the objectives for lube oil sampling, equipment specific sampling, sampling methods, managing interference and sample process management.
- Introduction to lubricant failure mechanisms and fluid property testing.
- Review of lubricant contamination measurement and control for particle, moisture, coolant, soot, fuel, and air contamination.
This course will include a short review quiz at the end of each section to reinforce the grasp of the subject material plus an additional sample exam at the end of the course to assist in preparation for the official ICML exam.
Course access is available for 6 months starting on date of registration.
Exam
This course meets the instructional hours required to sit for the exam. The MLA II exam is administered through ICML where you can register to take the online or paper exam. Fluid Life can also help you with the registration process once you have completed the course requirements.
